United States President Donald Trump faces a difficult choice amid the escalation of pressure on Iran and the continuation of negotiations, as a significant round of talks in Pakistan failed to produce agreements.
U.S. Vice President, J.D. Vance, described the situation as good news and bad news”: positive was the fact that substantial discussions were held, while negative remains the lack of a concrete agreement. According to him, it represents an adverse development for Iran.
This long meeting between the parties was considered important and surprising. But it was not a bagratory agreement, given the tense history between the two countries.
The BBC writes that Americans went to Pakistan with the view that Iran suffered badly in this war and that the quick compromise was possible.
” They decided not to accept our terms” Vance said. But Iran also has its own red lines. Negotiations are approaching with the belief that there is a strong hand in the process. According to the BBC, despite the damage done to the military, Tehran is still capable and willing to fight. There are still important shares in the Strait of Hormuz.
The previous nuclear agreement, Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, was reached only after about 18 months of intensive negotiations, accompanied by frequent interruptions and resumptions.
In this context according to BBC Trump now faces dilemma, increase pressure or negotiate
