But, as the Iranian foreign ministry spokesman noted, no one realistically expected an agreement to be reached at a single meeting, no matter how serious, high and long he was.
What remains unknown at the moment is whether any kind of foundation has been established for continuing negotiations during the remaining two-week ceasefire, as well as to what extent each side can be willing to make concessions to secure an agreement that still seems to be in the interest of both and the rest of the world.
