The leader of the Tisza Party and the candidate for prime minister, Peter Magyar, has declared that a major political change “is approaching in Hungary, speaking of a historic moment during Sunday's election process.
“Today will have a regime change in Hungary, the Hungarian people will write the history”, Peter Magyar said.
After voting at a centre in Budapest, he told reporters that parliamentary elections could mark a turning point for the country, while adding that high citizens' turnout shows the importance voters are attaching to the process.
According to him, the country faces a major political and strategic choice, linked to Hungary's future orientation and the way public institutions function.
The leader of the Tisza Party stressed that, in the event elections are held fairly, his political force believes it will win and assume responsibility to govern the country.
He also underlined the importance of strengthening Hungary's relations with the European Union and NATO, as well as restoring European funds in the country, stressing the need for closer co-operation with Central European states.
