On this day water is emphasized as a wealth to be carefully preserved and used responsibly by all citizens. K RU Pristina appeals for water savings in everydayity and community education on the importance of protecting this vital resource.
World Water Day is marked every year on March 22nd and is aimed at raising awareness of sustainable water resources management and providing drinking water for all.
According to international data, the global situation remains disturbing; about 2.2 billion people do not have access to safe drinking water, about 3.5 billion people do not have safe emissions, 1 in 4 families has no water inside the home, women and girls spend about 250 million hours every day providing water for their families.
In Kosovo, according to the National Institute of Public Health, over 99% of water samples tested are within safety standards, but challenges remain in rural areas and settlements without centralised supplies, reports Kosova Pres, broadcasts Periscope
This year, World Water Day is marked with the motto “Uji and Gender Equality”, emphasising equal and fair water access for all. /Periscope
