The committee stresses that London should reduce US dependence on key areas such as trident nuclear weapons, exchange of intelligence and military programmes like F-35 Lighting aircraft 2 / 1
It also recommends strengthening Europe's role within NATO and greater investments in defence capacities.
Trump's recent statements, where he criticised the allies and questioned NATO's importance, have added concerns that US support under Article 5 is no longer guaranteed.
Experts warn that a NATO without the US would evidently be less skilled militarily, making increasing European strategic autonomy necessary.
