Iran gave no direct indicator that it was ready for negotiations or compromise, Reuters reports.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard troupe issued a statement reaffirming that all shipments of “to and from the ports of allies and supporters of Israeli-American enemies” at each destination were prohibited.
The war has spread throughout the Middle East, killing thousands of people and causing the biggest disruption in energy supply history, hitting the global economy at high prices of oil, gas and garbage that have sparked fears of inflation.
The US and Israel launched attacks on Iran on 28 February during talks with Tehran on its nuclear programme, which had not yet reached an agreement. The attacks on Israel by Iran's Lebanese ally, Hezbollah, later triggered an Israeli attack there that has displaced a fifth of Lebanon's population.
On Thursday, Trump threatened during a cabinet meeting to increase pressure on Iran unless an agreement was reached. He later posted to social media that he would stop threatening attacks on Iranian power plants for 10 days until April 6th at 8 p.m. (up to the east hour of the day is due April 7th).
