British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said Thursday that four additional Typhoon warplanes will be sent to Qatar, while the Middle East conflict escalates, insisting that the United Kingdom has the necessary plan for defence.
According to foreign media, Telegrafi traces, Britain's “cautious response to Iran's crisis and a fearful attack on its main military base in Cyprus have led to doubts among partners about its military effectiveness”.
US President Donald Trump has also criticised Starmer for failing to provide sufficient support for his attacks on Iran.
Starmer said at a news conference that Britain had the right plan and had already pre-set military equipment in the entire region before the start of the war.
My “Pokus is offering a quiet and balanced leadership in national interest”, Starmer said.
This means establishing our military and diplomatic strength to protect our people, and it means having the strength to stand by our values and principles, despite pressure to do otherwise”.
He announced that Britain was sending four additional Typhoon planes to join the team in Qatar to strengthen our defence operations there and the region.
“We have the right plan for defence”, he said.
