Albania's Prime Minister Edi Rama stresses that developing the railway network in his country is one of the government's top priorities.
Among the various lines being rebuilt or built, Rama singled out the ambitious project of the Durres/Pristina Railway, which, according to him, is moving towards stages of concrete implementation.
“has completed a study of feasibility and preliminary project for the nation's railway, Durres Pristina. At the last meeting with Prime Minister Kurti, we have discussed the possibility of two foreign financing that will enable the project's advance,” said Rama, broadcast Oranews Albania.
According to him, this line is expected to be integrated with European railway networks, respecting contemporary standards and aiming at electrifying the projected 530km extension.
Rama underlined that the project is part of a broader vision for modernising railway transport, aimed at connecting Albania with the region and improving international ties.
Building this railway, he said, requires patience and extraordinary efforts, but also the international reputation and economic stability Albania has already acquired.
Rama assured that the government has a clear and structured plan for realising this strategic project, which will radically change mobility and regional transport.
