Qatar's Defence Ministry declared that the helicopter had a technical malfunction during a <x0m> routine”, which led to its collapse in the country's territorial waters.

There was no immediate information on the cause beyond the technical defect, and there was no indication that the collapse was the result of hostile actions, reports the report. Telegraph, broadcast Periscope.

The defence ministry announced the names of the deceased as follows: Captain Mubarak Salem Daway Al-Mari, Sergeant Fahad Hades Al-khayari and Kaporal Mohammed Maher Mohammed of the Qatar Armed Forces; Major Sinan Tasekin of the Joint Qatar-Turkey Joint Forces; and Turkish civil collaborators Suleiman Cemra Kahraman and Ismail Anas Can.

The ministry's statement reportedly that the search operation for Captain Saeed Nasser Samekh by Qatar's Armed Forces is still under way, while the ministry expressed its heartfelt concerns “to the victims' families.

In a statement, the Turkish Defence Ministry said one of its soldiers and two members of Turkish Defence Company Asselsan's personnel were killed in the helicopter crash. /Periscope
