Lawyer Musa Damatti expects a liberating act of KLA four, Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselin, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi, who are being held in custody in The Hague. Damatti, in an interview for EO, has stated that in volume and marathon processes, such as the court process in The Hague, the juries usually need more time for full and detailed examination of subjects.
According to him, the complexity of the files and the great volume of judicial materials directly influence the duration of the proclamation of judgment.
Damatti, however, expresses optimism about the final outcome.
I, as a lawyer, expect to declare a free trial act for all those who have now faced it and how many years since October 2020, with international justice in The Hague,” he has declared.
Damatt adds that there is no strict deadline for declaring the verdict, as this deadline varies and depends on the efficiency and administration of the panel.
He has clarified that the court ruling constitutes the final decision only in the first degree of the review.
Any first-degree decision has legal right to complaint. Regardless of what the decision will be, the same will no doubt be appealed to the highest degree of international justice,” has stressed Damati.
According to him, the right to appeal is an integral part of the judicial process and guarantees full and fair review of cases in the highest instance.
On November 9th 2020, in their first appearances, Hashim Thaci's Jakup Krasniqi has pleaded innocent to charges placed on them.
Wessel has also been declared in his presentation on November 10th, as has Rexhep Selimi on November 11th.
The incident against Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselin, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi is confirmed on October 26, 2020.
The Special Court was founded in 2015 by the Kosovo Assembly and is part of Kosovo's judicial system, but operates with international personnel and has headquarters at The Hague.
