Two pilots die in New York after the plane crash with the fire truck on the runway.

Air Canada plane crash took place with a fire vehicle.

According to Port Authority leader Kathryn Garcia, Air Canada was transporting 72 passengers and four crew members. Another vehicle was transporting two police officers.

Of those injured, 41 passengers and crew, along with the two officers, were taken to the hospital.

Currently, 32 of them have been released, but there are also cases of serious injuries.

“Unfortunately, the two pilots have been confirmed dead”, Garcia said during a press conference.

The airport is expected to remain closed until at least 2:00 local (18:00 GMT) to facilitate investigations, which are being conducted by the National Transport Safety Board (NTSB).

The investigation will focus on all aspects of the accident to determine the exact cause.
