In connection with the case, six suspected pistols trafficked from Montenegro were seized, with the intent to sell, while the 2 citizens carrying vehicle, firearms were arrested.
According to police in Albania, an associate of the two arrested has been identified and declared in search.
“As a result of an investigation conducted in 2 months, with pro-active methods, in co-ordination with the Tirana Prosecutor, Police Commissioner's Service No. 4, following inspections and operational work, with the objective of hitting the criminal activities of trafficking and the sale of firearms, finalised the operation coded “Rtondo”.
“During the operation, citizens D were cuffed. J., 31, resident of Shkodra and F. G., 22, resident of Domje village.
The vehicle that headed 22-year-olds and where passenger citizen D. J., banned for checks, in collaboration with the DVP Operational Task Force services in the country called the Fresk District”. From vehicle raids, six firearms (Sig Sauer pistols) suspected trafficked from Montenegro were found, with the aim of selling to the area.
Firearms were seized along with the “Volkseen” vehicle running citizen F. G., as well as 4 mobile phones”, Albanian police report.
