COMMU NICATH FOR MEDIA
Today, the Parliamentary Group of the Democratic League of Kosovo held the next meeting, in which recent political developments in the country were discussed, with particular emphasis on institutional flow following the Constitutional Court's Act.
During the meeting, it was estimated that the Act has brought needed judicial clarity and has restored the process to the constitutional framework, setting the way institutions should follow.
The LDK Parliamentary Group reaffirms its firm stand for full respect for constitutional order, normal functioning of institutions, and preserving democratic balance in the country. The LDK considers that any political action in this phase should be guided by state responsibility and not party calculations.
The LDK remains committed to a solution guaranteeing institutional unity, sweeping representation and avoiding any tendency to focus power on one hand. The president's institution must be a unifying figure, on political parties, and in the service of the constitutional order and stability of the Republic.
As the Democratic League of Kosovo has repeatedly stressed, the question of electing the president cannot be resolved through procedural improvised, but only through a genuine political agreement, which ensures institutional unity and democratic balance. In the absence of such an agreement, any other attempt is destined to fail.
As a result, responsibility for building this agreement and managing this process lies with the first party. Any failure to reach a solution will directly bear political responsibility for the consequences that follow, including going to elections.
In the event of failure and going to elections, the Democratic League of Kosovo will compete together, clear in vision and ready for civic trust.
