According to Gucatit, the fact that the topic of “punishments or releases” is being discussed by international ambassadors right on the eve of the verdict is no coincidence. He described this as an attempt to prepare public opinion for a decision that, according to him, “appears to be already written elsewhere”.
This is Gucati's full reaction:
German Ambassador Rainer Rudolf's statement raises serious doubts about the judicial process in The Hague.
Why is this topic being raised right now by ambassadors on the eve of the Special Court's decision? This is an attempt to prepare the opinion of a decision that seems to be already written elsewhere.
It is not neutral if ambassadors speak of “punishment or release”, but it is open prejudice of the process and a clear signal of external influence.
Justice should neither be dictated nor prefigured nor built with diplomatic messages.
No decision, absolutely none who violate our war, will be accepted. We don't let anyone play with our sacrifice!
