Iran's new leader reportedly is in a coma

Iran's new supreme leader, his father's successor, Mojtaba Kameti, is reported to have remained in a coma and also lost one leg.

Citing a source of Tehran's capital, The Sun reported that Mojataba Khamenei has suffered serious stomach or liver injuries.

In addition, it is reported that the new leader is currently in intensive care at Sina University Hospital, in Tehran's historic neighbourhood. Security forces are said to have isolated part of the building.

According to internal sources, hospital personnel have told him Mojtaba was in a very serious state “” and under the care of Mohammad Reza Zafardjani. Besides being minister of health, treatment and medical education of Iran, Zafardjan is also one of the best surgeons in the country.

“One or two of his feet are cut. His liver or stomach has also been damaged by the attacks. He seems to also be in a coma”, the source was quoted as saying.

Whether the wounds of Mojataba Khamenei were taken in the same attack that killed his 86-year-old father is unknown.
