“The countries in the bloc would pay the price, sooner or later if they were silent about the American and Israeli attacks on Iran”, Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei told Spanish broadcaster TVE, though he did not elaborate.
He also reiterated previous Iranian denials that a ballistic missile shot down by NATO air defence that was heading towards Turkish airspace had not been issued by Iran.
Different, boss of NATO, Mark Rutte, said Article 5 is not on the table after the alliance's air defence crashed a ballistic missile over Turkey's airspace yesterday.
Rutte said the incident was “serio”, but “nobody's talking about Article 5”.
Article 5 reportedly says if an ally of NATO faces an armed attack, each other Alliance member will consider it an armed attack on all members, and will take actions it considers necessary to assist the attacked ally. /Periscope
