Comments were made by the Iranian Embassy in Kabul, which posted on social networks saying Trump withdrew after Iran's threats to mark the energy infrastructure of the entire region”.
Iranian news agency Fars, citing one source, also claimed there was no direct communication with the US, nor through mediators, as Trump said very good “ ” talks were held about the outcome of the war with Iran, Telegrafio describes.
Tehran's reaction comes after President Trump has said the United States and Iran have developed “productive talks” over the weekend, and that he will postpone military attacks against Iranian power plants for five days.
Writing in large letters on Social Truth, Trump said he made the decision to postpone threatened attacks based on “inton and content” of discussions.
We remember Trump had threatened to hit Iranian power plants by Monday evening if the country would not allow the reopening of the Hormuz Strait.
Even since last week, Trump had said he was not interested in pursuing a truce with Iran.
“We may have dialogue, but I don't want to make a ceasefire”, he said Friday afternoon.
Since the beginning of March, Iran has effectively closed the Hormuz Strait for most ships, a key oil transit route that normally handles about 20 million barrels a day and approximately 20 per cent of the global trade in liquid natural gas.
The closure has increased transport and insurance costs, increased oil prices and raised global economic concerns.
Regional escalation has continued since the United States and Israel launched a joint war against Iran on February 28th, killing more than 1,300 people so far, including then Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
Iran has retaliated with intimidation attacks and rockets targeting Israel, along with Jordan, Iraq and Gulf countries, which says they are targeting the US military “> ”, causing casualties and damage to infrastructure, while there are “compounded” markets and global aviation.
