Iran again closes the Strait of Hormuz

Iran has announced the closure of the Hormuz Strait, warning that any transitance through this strait will face “severe measures”, according to the Reports of state media.

According to the announcement, the transport of goods “from and for the ports of allies and supporters of Israeli-American enemies” is prohibited for any corridor and destination.

Three container ships with different citizenships have been forced back after Iranian authorities' warnings.

The Strait of Hormuz, through which one fifth of the world's oil and gas passes, has remained largely closed since the outbreak of conflict, increasing international tensions and concerns about energy security.
