Inspectorate increases controls for Kosovo market oil prices

In this context, intensive controls are under way for implementing the decision on temporary price regulation and establishing other safeguard clauses aimed at protecting consumers, boosting transparency, maintaining fair competition and preventing market disorders.
According to the media report, the Central Inspectorate of Market Oversight, in co-operation with the Kosovo Tax Administration, is analyzing data related to import prices and prices offered to consumers on the local market.
“According to official data provided by the Kosovo Customs evidence, the average import price for oil derivatives during Wednesday (April 11th,2026) date has been as follows: Oil: $1.40/ly; Benzine: $1.22/liter. Meanwhile, based on the monitoring performed on the local market today, prices exposed to consumers at retail points result as follows: Oil (Dizel): from $1.44/liter to 1.54 $/ly; Benzine: From $1.18 to $1.31/liter”, the announcement says.
As reported in the report, based on the decision of the date 04.03.26 for the provisional regulation of prices and the appointment of other safeguard clauses, the maximum trade margin allowed as follows: two eurocents per litre of the grossly sold product, and 12 eurocents per litre of retail product.
