Historians seek resolution against Shkelzen Gashi book for massacres in Kosovo

The League of Kosovo Historians “Ali Hadri”, the branch in Decan, has been addressed with an official request to Kosovo's Parliament for the adoption of a resolution opposing the book “Mascurat in Kosovo 1998-1999” by author Shkelzen Gashi. According to historians, the book in question does not clearly specify responsibility for crimes committed during the war in Kosovo and leaves room for interpretations that, according to them, violate historical truth.
The letter emphasizes the need for an institutional stance, arguing that the handling of events in 1998) 1999 should be made on proven scientific grounds and with full responsibility to collective memory and war victims.
This demand of historians comes as a result of the many reactions that occurred in recent days on the “Masakrat exhibition in Kosovo 19981999”, which was based on this very book, and where doubts arose about inaccuracies in the data presented, especially concerning the victims of several massacres.
