Haxhiu: For the president's election, serious discussions are needed, the March 5th session was interrupted, not closed.

Kosovo Parliament Speaker Albulen Haxhiu has indicated that the process for electing the president of the country requires deep and responsible discussions among parliamentary groups.

It has clarified that the March 5th session has not been closed, but has only been interrupted.

“I think this issue belongs to levels and parliamentary groups, discussions that will take place in this direction,” said Haxhiu, stressing that the decision to continue the session will be made when appropriate conditions are created.

So I didn't close the session, I interrupted it... Until then serious discussions are needed, not only procedural, but true if we want or do not want to elect the president.”, she said.

It also called for all political subjects to contribute real and serious. According to her, Vetevendosje, with 66 deputies, does not have the number needed to elect the president in the first two rounds, where at least 80 votes are required.

I think we agree that the country does not need new elections, because citizens have spoken and their message is clear,” added Haxhiu.

In addition to the matter of electing the president, Haxhiu also spoke of the Assembly of Parliament's Headship called for Monday. She announced that many bills will be addressed, including those related to international agreements.
