The decision on financial support of the exhibition has been made in the Parliament's Headship, in full compliance with the regulation for subsidisation.
In addition to representatives of the Serbian List, all other members have voted in favour of that decision.
As Speaker of the Parliament, I feel an institutional and moral obligation to express my sympathy for the situation.
Headship has acted on the basis of information presented at the time and there have been no indicators of inaccuracies. At the same time, it should be noted that verification of data does not fall into the direct competencies of headship.
Support for this exhibition has been given with good intentions. However, this case represents an important moment of institutional reflection.
In this direction, we will take concrete steps to strengthen the evaluation mechanisms, by establishing specific professional commissions and changing existing regulations, with the aim of strengthening criteria and increasing transparency and accountability in decision making.
