Today we remember March 24th 1999, when NATO bombings on Serbian targets changed the course of Kosovo's history.
In response to the cycle of violence that had been shaped by the Milosevic regime's genocide and policies towards Kosovo Albanians, 19 NATO nations, led by the United States, launched the air campaign on Serbian police and military targets for 78 days.
During this period, NATO's intervention by air and KLA resistance on the ground was combined into a defining moment for Kosovo.
We honour, with gratitude, the crucial role of NATO, the sacrifice of the KLA and all those who contributed to Kosovo's freedom.
We are always grateful for the support of our international friends and allies who did not leave us alone in the most difficult moments.
