The US Embassy in Beirut is appealing to its citizens of “to the site” unless they leave Lebanon.
In a security alert issued this morning, the embassy says that American citizens “should seriously consider” leaving the country with Midle East Airlines flights starting at the Bayrut International Raffy Hariri Airport, if they believe it is safe to do so.
Meanwhile, Germany has temporarily withdrawn its embassy staff from Iraq due to the Middle East conflict, a German Foreign Ministry spokesman said late Monday.
“The German Embassy staff in Baghdad has been temporarily withdrawn from Iraq due to the threatening situation”, the spokesman said, adding that staff safety is constantly being reassessed.
