The Royal Navy will lead an international initiative to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
The report was made by the “The Times”, as concerns increase in terms of global shipping security.
Britain's “Royal Marrine will lead a “Coalion of Hormuz” to secure ship passage via strategic waterway”, informs media in question. The initiative is part of international efforts to preserve security in one of the world's most important shipping corridors for energy and goods.
As British officials told the newspaper, the United Kingdom aims to develop drug ships in co-operation with the United States and France naval forces. Some of the ships participating may be autonomous, which highlights the increased use of advanced technologies in marine security operations.
At the same time, London has offered to organise a summit, with the participation of more than 30 countries that have already signed a joint statement, expressing their intention to make adequate “ ” efforts to ensure free and safe navigation in the region.
The initiative stresses the importance of the Hormuz Strait for international trade and energy security, as a significant percentage of global exports of liquid oil and natural gas cross this particular sea route.
Developments are being closely monitored by governments and markets, as any disruption of shipping can affect energy prices and the stability of the global supply chain. /Panorama
