Arian Salihu appointed Pristina Constitutional Sub-Prosecutor

Randa Crime Prosecutor Arian Salihu has been nominated to the position of deputy chief prosecutor at the Constitutional Prosecutor in Pristina. His appointment took place Thursday during the 290th meeting of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council with 5 votes for, none against and no abstention. KPK recommendation for Arian Salih's name for the position of deputy chief prosecutor [...]

According to his CV, Salihu has over 16 years of experience in Kosovo's justice system. The career was launched in 2010 at the Anti-Corruption Agency as a senior official for investigation and strategy. Then in the Bureau of Disciplinary Prosecutor (ZPD) in the position of senior judicial inspector, reports “Justice Trust”, broadcast Periscope.

In February 2018, he had taken over the DP leadership, in a period when legal changes restructured accounting mechanisms within the judicial and prosecutorial system.

Since July 2019, Salihu is part of the prosecutorial system originally in Pristina's Constitutional Prosecutorship.

In February 2024, he was appointed head of the General Department at the Founding Prosecutor in Pristina. In July 2024, he advanced to the position of the Prosecutor of the Criminals, in investigating economic crimes and corruption. Salihu has attended professional training in the fields of investigation and technology, including the Sequistrim and Confiscating of Riches, the Medical Training on ElectronicEvience, and the Cyber Ageness for Procutors Court.

Meanwhile, at the 290 KKP collection, four regulations have been adopted, which have been met and changed according to the legal changes that have entered into force last year. Among the changed regulations were the regulation for the organisation and activity of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council; Equipment for the Commission for Boards, Finances and Prosecutors Management, etc.

The KKP's permanent commissions, including the Commission for Standard Affairs, were also established at this meeting, with leading Visar Krasniqi and the four members: Veton Shaban, Naim Abazi, Bahri Hyseni and Valdrin Krasniqi.

Also discussed was the establishment of the Commission for Prosecutors' Rating, with leading Elza Bajrami-Kastrati, Deputy Deputy Prime Minister Milot Krasniqi.

However, Milot Krasniqi has refused to be vice-chairman with the argument that the leader of the KKP has had derogatory approaches, as well as position is negligible.

KKP leader Arian Gashi has said that the KKP is not a fountain of wishes until he has said the proposal for deputy chairman is a legal issue.

Following Milo Krasniqi's refusal to be appointed deputy prime minister, the KPK leader has proposed to postpone discussion on the next meeting until confirmations of all prosecutors for their proposals for the Commission are received. The SPRK and the Gjakova prosecution had not sent the nominations.

Finally, the Commission for Business, Finance and Prosecutors Management was established, but KKP member Milot Krasniqi refused to be the leader. While Dardan Vuniqi was temporarily nominated for the Commission's chairmanship and voted by the votes of all KP members. While Sabahate Sinani and Ersan Qavolli were voted for members of the Commission for Business, Finance and Prosecutors Management.

Also, the extraordinary transfer of six additional months to Mitrovica for two prosecutors was continued due to the lack of prosecutors at the Constitutional Prosecutorship in Mitrovica.

Elza Bajrami Kastrati has reacted after statements by member Milo Kransiqi for biased decisions, saying the new members of the KKP are not working with a tendency as they were working on the previous mandate.

Milot Krasniqi has said there have been biased actions from the agenda when the replacement of the Ankes Commission to the implementation of the Classified Information Law was proposed.

After the discussions, with four votes to be approved, Visar Krasniqi is sent as a member to the Ankes Commission to implement the Classified Information Law. /Periscope/
