Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview for French television France 2, stated that the consequences of fighting Russia pose a serious threat to the existence of the Ukrainian state, but voiced confidence that peace can be achieved within a year.
He said Russian President Vladimir Putin is not afraid of European leaders, but according to him, feared only by US President Donald Trump.
According to Zelensky, this is an undisputed fact, adding that “whatever Trump to Putin says is not our case”.
Zelensky also recalled that Trump has expressed a desire to end the war through a compromise. Ukraine, he said, supports US peace initiatives, but will not accept any compromise that violates its sovereignty.
In his speech on World Economic Forum in DavosZelensky stressed once again that democracy alone is not enough to stop Putin, as he does not respect the rules and principles of war.
In the interview, the Ukrainian president also criticised Moscow's lack of sufficient pressure, underlining that any dialogue with Russia must develop on clear conditions in order to bring concrete results. /Telegraphy/
