Voter Manipulation, more than 20 people at police station south of Mitrovica

The interview is taking place even in northern Mitrovica, and it is taking place after the Constitutional Prosecutor in Mitrovica has authorised police to interview 43 heads of the municipality's Municipal Centres Counting South Mitrovica North, Leposaviq, Zubin Potok and Zvecan, due to suspicions of counting manipulation in the December 28th 2025 elections in these municipalities.

The defence lawyer of one of the suspects, Berat Peci, told the media that his client has flatly denied all prosecution claims.

According to him, the suspect has stated that the “has no hand, nor has he had any interest or intention of counterfeiting or pointing to any candidate or subject assigned”.

“Yes, initially I have to show that police have had a broad action, is interviewing persons who allegedly committed the forged criminal work of the election outcome from the last elections held on December 28th. My client just finished the statement, the same, the same, said he had no hand, no interest, no intention to forge, no appeal to any candidate or subject... In reality, the goal is because they allegedly decided or added results or votes in favor of someone, but as the suspect I defended suggested, he had neither the intention nor any desire nor any other form of voting. My candidate was from the ranks of the Democratic Party of Kosovo and from the evidence he had with him, resulting in all the boxes he had participated in as leader, the result was minimal, two or three plus-minute votes, under the margin of error allowed by the Central Election Commission”, he said.

The investigative process is still in the initial phase, and further investigations are expected to dawn the truth.

Meanwhile, the suspect continues to be held at the police station pending future decisions by justice bodies./Periscopi/
