“Time of horror” Mitrovica commemorates 26th anniversary of ethnic cleansing

Within these activities, starting at 11:00, a memorial plaque will be placed on the new pedestrian bridge. Then, at 12: 00 a.m., an exhibition of photographs documenting night events between February 3 and 4, 2000.

Memorial events will be wrapped up at 12:30 with the lighting of candles on the new bridge, in honour of the victims and in memory of the suffering of Albanians that night, reports EO, broadcast Periscope.

26 years ago, the bridge's leadings had killed ten Albanians, among them children, women and elders. Many more were injured, as about 12,000 Albanians were deported who were forced to cross south of the city, leaving their homes on fire. /Periscope
