According to SBASK, this gear is organised by the “Freedom has the name” and is completely not political, representing a civic call for impartial justice and for respecting the sacrifice of Kosovo Liberation Army rescuers, who have been held in custody for more than five years.
In its announcement, the SBASK emphasises that this issue has particular union and historical weight, as many of the KLA deliverers were at the same time educators and education workers who left their jobs during the Milosevic regime. In the years of the occupation, it was the teachers who kept their education in Albanian, national dignity, and the hope of freedom alive.
The SBASK estimates that thanks to their sacrifice, the KLA's fair fight and the support of international allies, Kosovo today is free and sovereign state. According to the union, in the face of prolonged injustices against those who contributed to freedom, silence is not an option.
Doing so is not a political act, but a moral and civic act. It is an expression of our collective conscience and the continuation of the union mission for the protection of human dignity and truth”, the announcement says.
