Former security guard Cvetkovic pleads innocent for allegedly dehumanizing Albanian prisoners

Tzvekvic is accused of systematically mistreating Albanian prisoners, giving them life and torture inhuman ways, such as rubber sticks, kicks and fists, until tradeoffs, causing bodily injuries.

“There is a well-founded suspicion that the N.C. defendant, during the 1998-1999 period, in the quality of the official guard person in Pristina Prison, the parallel for women in Lipjan, in co-ordination with other prison officials, has violated the rules of international law during armed conflict, respectively. According to the indictment, the N.C., throughout this period, has systematically mistreated Albanian prisoners, killing them for life and tormenting them inhumanally with various means, like rubber bats, kicks and fists, until allivanised, causing bodily injuries. As a result of such beatings, victims have suffered psychic violence, anxiety and fear, and have been severely violated by human dignity”, the prosecution's announcement said.
