US, Russia agree to return military dialogue

The United States and Russia agreed on Thursday to return high-level military dialogue for the first time in more than four years, to another sign of regulating relations between the two countries since President Donald Trump took office and demanded an end to the war in Ukraine. [...]
The deal came out of a meeting between senior Russian and American military officials in the capital of the United Arab Emirates, the US Army in Europe said, the Associated Press reports, Periscopi broadcasts.
The restored communication channel “will ensure continued military contact, while the parties continue to work towards a stable peace”, the US European Command said in a statement.
High-level military communication was suspended in 2021 after relations between Moscow and Washington became increasingly strained before Ukraine's full Russian occupation in February 2022.
