Rexhep Selimi's lawyer: History cannot be written in the courtroom

After a three-hour meeting with Rexhep Selimi at The Hague's pre-trial Chambers, lawyer Rudina Yasini has shared her opinion on one of the most prosecuted court processes in Kosovo's history.

I've reflected a lot about what's happened in five years and some court process. With hundreds of hours of consultations and thousands of pages of written documents and tests analyzed”, Yasin writes.

It reports that tomorrow the four KLA leaders will keep their final word in the courtroom, where the decision is expected to be made in the coming months.

This trial process has become a theater of absurdity, where the prosecution has attempted to rewrite the KLA's history and the fight for independence through distorted accusations”, notes Rex Selimi's lawyer.

But she adds that history cannot be written either in that courtroom or in Brussels and Washington halls.

It is written with the sacrifice of Kosovo citizens, with the blood of freedom fighters and the life of martyrs. Freedom has a name!
