(20 minutes ago)Pristina Chairman Progress Rama has requested public clarification by BIRN Kosova, Kalxo.com and Life Director Jarra regarding Facebook account “The Gaul” flower, which it describes as a false profile that has published analysis and opinions.
In a public response, Rama describes the case as <x0larging” and raises concerns about possible violations of ethical and legal standards.
It requires that the institutions and organisations cited clarify the authorship of the profile, possible co-operation with it, the period and way of engagement, and whether the activity is financed by public funds.
Rama also wants to know whether there has been involvement of political officials in discussions about the publishing of opinions and urges that public forgiveness be asked of persons who, according to him, have been damaged by profile activity.
He announces he expects a public response and clarification by Monday.
According to Rama, if the answers do not provide the required transparency, the Pristina municipality will consider cutting off any form of co-operation and institutional support with BIRN Kosovo.
At the end of the response, Rama stresses that public funds and public spaces should be managed in the interest of citizens and that institutions have the responsibility to maintain public confidence.
