Lawyer Geoffrey Roberts is giving the last word, where he said Rexhep Selimi is innocent and must be acquitted, the Klankosova reports, the Periscope broadcast.
According to Selimi's defence, the Specialised Prosecutor has failed to prove that he has been a member of the joint criminal enterprise in order to extend power in Kosovo.
“Geoffrey Roberts has launched the final word on behalf of Rexhep Selimi to show once again the objections that Selim's defence has, not only for the sentence the ZPS has spoken of, but for all points of indictment, 6 for crimes against humanity and 4 for war crimes. As we have seen, in the first two days of the final words, the Specialised Prosecutor has not abandoned at least one of them, and thus Selimi's defense, like Thaci's and Wessel's, say Rexhep Selimi is innocent of all points of act and should be released immediately. Even according to Selimi's defence, the prosecution has failed to prove beyond reasonable doubt that Selimi has been a member of the joint criminal enterprise and committed crimes together with their members in order to extend power to Kosovo, which is the central part of the prosecution's final file, under which the sentence is required. ”
Roberts is continuing his word, and then will be followed by the other members of the defense team, and will finally be declared.
