The prosecution in Gjilan: Interviews relate to more votes for candidates in the Year, with more changes

The Constitutional Prosecutor in Gjilan has provided details about the interview that took place today in Gjilan under investigation for possible abuses in the national election process held on December 28th 2025. The prosecution announced that on January 20th it authorized the Kosovo Police to examine any misuse of votes [...]
The prosecution announced that on January 20th it authorized the Kosovo Police to identify any abuse of votes during the election process or any other way of counterfeiting or changing results, whether in favour or at the expense of the subject assigned to MPs and due to this suspicion, to provide concrete evidence, which they have accepted by the Central Election Commission yesterday.
“With the date 03.02.2026 we authorized police for interviewing suspects, originally in the municipality of the Year, with more change in this municipality as a result, compared to the municipality of Gjilan, Kamenica, Novoberda, Ranillug, Partesh, for which the suspects' interviews are still continuing”, reports the report.
It was also said that in the territory, whose competence is the Constitutional Prosecutor in Gjilan, there is no difference highlighted by the earlier published outcome compared to the result following the recounting of the vote (I tend to note that only one candidate results with -145 votes after the recount, and all others are under this figure) as has resulted in other municipalities of the Republic of Kosovo, so the Constitutional Prosecutor in Gjilan will continue with investigations into regular procedure, until interviewing all suspects in all municipalities, unless any other circumstances are presented.
The foundation procedure in Gjilan remains committed to investigating and bringing every person to justice who has misused even one vote in the election outcome with the aim of protecting the integrity of the election process and rule of law.”
