He spoke of NATO's importance in Kosovo and the possibility of a role Kosovo can play in NATO and European security.
From there, Hargreaves also pointed to the extended mandate of British troops in KFOR.
“We will continue to work with our Kosovo friends and colleagues to ensure that Kosovo can continue to contribute to European security. We also remain committed to KFOR's current work in Kosovo and am happy that our prime minister confirmed last year that we will continue to contribute for at least another three years to help Kosovo's role, ensure a safe environment and freedom of movement in Kosovo”.
But, he says Kosovo's role could go beyond, playing a role in European security.
And I have seen closely that Kosovo security personnel are working towards NATO standards and in everything they do they have developed some joint training with the United Kingdom and to be equipped to become a potentially useful partner in Ukraine or other countries in Europe”.
The British ambassador said Kosovo must continue to work to achieve NATO standards and then continue contributing to common European security.
