Operation “Lockdown”, hit criminal group trafficking weapons from Kosovo to Tirana

Tirana police have successfully finalised the police operation coded “Lockdown”, following a two-month investigation of pro-active methods by Police Commissioner No. 3, in co-operation with the Prosecutor.

According to police, the operation has hit a criminal group allegedly trafficking and selling firearms in Tirana, trafficked mainly by Kosovo.

Within this operation, four citizens have been cuffed: G. N., 39, R. R., 48, K. C., 49, and A. C., 45, all residents in Tirana.

“From investigations allegedly that these citizens, after securing firearms mainly from Kosovo, brought them to Tirana and were later modified and stored in the headquarters,” reported in the statement.

During the search of facilities adapted as the basis for criminal activity, police have seized: 8 firearms (5 pistols and 3 machine guns), various pieces of weapons, a hunting gun, brushing and combat ammunition, 3 radios like police, a multifunctional vest and 9 mobile phones.

“Police Commissioner No. 3 experts in running the Prosecution at the Court of First Court of General Jurydiction Tirana have successfully finalised the police operation quite Lockdowın,” said in the report.

Police report working on identifying and apprehending other persons involved in this criminal activity, while procedural materials have been passed to the Prosecution for further actions. /Telegraphy/ Periscope.
