MPJD reacts after the arrest of Mithat Lloghan in Serbia: International Community Increases Pressure on Serbia's Authorities

According to the MPJD, immediately after receiving information on the case, all institutional actions have been undertaken. The Interconnecting Office of the Republic of Kosovo in Serbia has addressed an official request to Serbia's Interconnecting Office in Kosovo, requesting confirmation of the arrest, clarification of concrete reasons for the ban, as well as other relevant information for handling the case further.

Also, European Union Delegation to Serbia has been announced in the case, while verbal notes have also been sent to diplomatic missions of Serbia-accredited Quint countries aimed at ensuring the engagement of international partners in protecting the rights and security of citizens of the Republic of Kosovo.

MPJD suggests that the ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo to Serbia, Jetish Jashari, is in constant contact with the family of those arrested, and that, through the Liaison Office, formal requirements for allowing the visit to Mihat Llozhani will be processed.

The ministry has called on the International Community to increase pressure on Serbia's authorities, stressing that practices of arresting and mistreating citizens of the Republic of Kosovo constitute violations of international norms and standards for human rights.
