Martens continues with Vjosa Osmani after saying Trump deserves the Nobel Prize: Victor Orban did likewise

With an ironic post on X, Martens comments Osman's statement that Donald Trump should take the Nobel for Peace.

He says Osmani's suggestion is the same as that of Hungary's authoritarianly inclined leader, Victor Orban, who has also been seen to be close to Trump before elections in his country.

“Trumpi is simply Trump and distributes a video where Barack and Michelle Obama are represented as monkeys. Meanwhile, Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani, a visionary leader with excellent moral integrity, suggests, as Orban did before her, that Trump should receive the Nobel Prize for Peace”, Martens wrote.

Martens continues his post with irony to Osman.

The people in Ukraine, Denmark, Greenland, Canada, Poland, etc., or the loved ones killed by ICE may not share this enthusiasm. But surely, people liberated by their dictator in Venezuela will soon enjoy the fruits of democracy, which is all Trump wants. So a good choice from Osmani”.

In an article in the FAZ, Martens has been critical of Osman's movements to remain in the presidential post even for a mandate using “paxis” with Trump.

For this, the Kosovo presidency has said it is preparing indictments in German courts - a move also criticised by journalists' associations.
