According to KSF data in Kosovo during 2025, a total of 27 thousand and 418 children were born. Of them, 14,000 and 135 males and 13 thousand and 284 girls.
The number of children born in 2025 has suffered an increase compared to a year ago, since during 2024 the number of children born was 26 thousand and 549 children. Of them 13 thousand and 772 males and 12 thousand and 779 girls.
“in November 2025 were registered 2 184 births (in and outside Kosovo). Of these registered 107 births are males, and 177 births are girls. In November 2025 there was a decline in birth rates about -3.7 %, compared to October 2025x1>.
The smallest number of births was marked in 2023, where, according to KSF data in Kosovo, 25 thousand and 586 children were born. Of them 13 thousand and 229 males and 12,000 and 357 girls.
Meanwhile, the number of births in 2022 was higher, since 26 thousand and 118 children were born in Kosovo this year. Of them 13 thousand and 317 males and 12,000 and 801 girls.
In 2022 the total number of births was 26,18, with 13,317 boys and 12,801 girls.
The year 2023 marked a total of 25,586 births, of which 13,229 were males and 12,357 girls.
A total of 26,549 births were registered in 2024, of which 13,772 males and 12,779 girls were born.
The year 2025 marked a total of 27,418 births, with 14,135 men and 13,283 girls.
Kosovo has 1,586,659 registered residents, according to the final report. According to official data from the previous census realised in 2011, the total number of residents in Kosovo was about 1.7 million. The process had also been largely boycotted by Serbs at the time.
The 2024 consensus shows that the ethnic structure in Kosovo remains almost the same as in 2011, with Albanians making up the vast majority of the population and minorities maintaining considerable presence.
The vast majority of residents have been declared to belong to Islamic faith, while Orthodox and Catholic communities represent larger groups of religious minorities. /Monitor
