Jail sought for 22 leadings in Gjakova for counterfeit vote

The Constitutional Prosecutor in Gjakova has called for the appointment of the detention measure against 22 leaders suspected of forging voting results during the voting count process in the Gjakova municipality.
According to the prosecution, in co-operation with the Kosovo Police, investigative actions have been conducted concerning suspicion of manipulation of results within political subjects during the Kosovo Parliament's elections for deputies. Under the investigation, 22 persons have been interviewed, suspected of criminal activity “Forging the results of the vote”, according to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo.
Under the State Prosecutor's decision, suspects have been detained for 48 hours, while to them the request has been filed to appoint the detention measure to the competent court. The prosecution has stressed that it remains committed to protecting the integrity of the election process and the free vote of citizens.
