Greece: 14 Dead From Crossing Coast Guard Ship With Migrant Traffickers' motto · Global Voices

According to Greek media, the incident occurred after a clash between a Coastal Watchtower ship and a motorboat transporting immigrants.

According to information from the Coast Guard, a motto tried to approach Mersinidi, Xios, to accommodate immigrants. Then he was spotted by a Coastal Watchtower and followed a chase during which two vessels crashed. Coastal Watchtower sources report that their officers suffered minor injuries.

According to an update from the Emergency Medical Service, rescue teams have transported 18 irregular immigrants (including a pregnant woman) and 2 Coastal officers to the hospital.
