Edi Rama for “Palestinian suffering is real and heartbreaking

Rama took part in the international conference against anti-Semitism “Generation Truth”, organised by the Israeli Ministry for Diaspora Affairs and the Battle Against Antisemitism, under the International Holocaust Memorial Day.

They were American imperialists, Soviet sociomperialists and Israeliians.

One channel was the official version, the newspaper of the Communist Party, which spoke of the Zionist army that kills and expels Palestinians. The other channel was the Bible of my grandmother, a very believing Catholic. The Bible was forbidden, but it had it. ”

After the fall of communism, Rama said that he began learning more about the history of Israel and Jerusalem: “After the fall of communism, I could not go to Israel because there was no air or sea connection. But I started learning more, and when I first came, love just grew. ”

During the interview, the prime minister also recalled Albania's history during the Holocaust and the honour code “Besa”, stressing that Albania was the only country in Europe where the number of Jews increased during World War II: “when Albania became the only country in Europe that did not hand over any Jewish during World War II, the Jewish population grew during the war. ”

He added that Albania has delivered over 3,700 names of saved Jews near Yad Vashem. Rama also described the demands of the Nazis during the war: “The Nazis came with two demands: lists of Jews and gold lists. The answer was simple and final: You can take it, the Jews are ours to protect them. It's not a legend, it's a fact. ”

Speaking of the current global situation, Rama warned of an open return of anti-Semiticism: “Antisemiism is coming back openly and shamelessly, often disguised as political criticism, cultural anxiety or, even worse, as moral superiority. Hate doesn't start with violence. It starts with the language. It starts with indifference. It starts with excuses. ”

Regarding the October 7th attack and the subsequent war, Prime Minister Rama was direct: “Terrorism is not a view. It's a crime against humanity. The October 7th massacre was no resistance. It was mass murder. Palestinian suffering is real and truly heartbreaking, reports TCh, Periscope broadcast.

It's crazy to blur moral lines or legitimize terror in the name of proportionism. Peace cannot mean neutrality toward terror. ”
