Customs and Police Action, Grab Two kilograms of narcotics at Meradare

Today, on the date 02.02.2026, at the Merdare Border Cross, Kosovo Customs officials, in close co-ordination with the Kosovo Police Director for the Investigation of Narcotics, have conducted a detailed audit of a suspected vehicle at the entrance of the territory of the Republic of Kosovo.
During the detailed search, some 2 (two) kilograms of narcotics, suspected of cocaine, have been discovered. Substance was sophisticatedly hidden inside the vehicle.
The X-ray scanner, a donation to the United States of America, has also been used to implement deepening control, which has significantly facilitated the work of officials and enabled the exact location of the site where narcotics was hidden.
The case is being handled by competent bodies, while further legal action, in line with legislation in force, will be taken against those involved.
Kosovo Customs and the Kosovo Police remain committed to the fight against organised crime and narcotics trafficking, through close interilateral co-operation, intelligence exchange and use of modern technical capacities, aimed at preventing illegal activities and ensuring the safety of citizens and the borders of the Republic of Kosovo.
