The Crans-Montana municipality shares 1 million francs for victims of tragedy

The Crans-Montana municipality has decided to separate 1 million Swiss francs in support of victims of the tragedy occurring in this municipality. The decision was made Tuesday during the Municipal Council meeting. According to the mayor, Nicolas Férad, this assistance aims to provide concrete support to the affected families and to prove the solidarity of the local community. The funds will be donated to the Fire Victims Assistance Foundation, which is currently under way.

Municipal authorities also recommend that all donations be centralised through this foundation, in order for distribution of aid to be more efficient and co-ordinated.

In the press release, the municipality stresses that this gift is independent of any ongoing legal procedure and reconfirms its full co-operation with competent authorities.

130 francs per resident

“We are aware that money cannot heal wounds, but we hope to support families affected by this tragedy and show the solidarity of the Crans-Montana” community, Chairman Nicolas Férad said on behalf of the Municipal Council.

According to authorities, divided according to the number of residents, the amount of 1 million francs represents about 100 francs per person. With the cantonal contribution added, every citizen of the Crans-Montana municipality contributes a total of 130 francs. /Albinfo. ch
