State closes 26 motels and villas across Kosovo (FOTO)

The Central Inspectorate of Market Oversight has organised and carried out a broad inspection action in co-operation with the Kosovo Police, Kosovo Tax Administration and Central Labour Inspectorate, with the goal of ensuring respect for legal standards, protection of consumers, guaranteeing fair competition in the market, and verifying [the] fulfillment.
According to the official announcement, a total of 69 economic subjects have been inspected during this action, where the main focus has been the wider monitoring of economic subjects exercising their activities, related to the field of hotels and tourism, respectively, the object of joint inspections has been mainly economic subjects, exercising visual and motel activities.
The inspectors of the Central Accounting Inspectorate of the Conform Market legal competencies have made provisional closures of 26 economic subjects across Kosovo's entire territory, “due to no business registration, as well as a lack of consent/agreement to meet minimal technical conditions”.
Meanwhile, to economic operators exercising their activities contrary to the legislation in force, according to the announcement, market inspectors have pronounced 27 punitive measures.
