Among other things, he visited the village of Yahidne, where Russian forces kept more than 300 prisoners in the basement of a local school for about a month in 2022.
Rutte arrived in Kiev on Tuesday, February 3rd, and a day later he visited the city of Chernihivi and its suburbs.
He stayed in Ukraine for a night after a major combined Russian attack that took place shortly before his arrival.
In the village of Yahidne, which he visited accompanied by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sihka and the head of the army administration of the Chernihiv region, Vyacheslav Chaus, he was shown a basement where Russian forces carried prisoners.
Tens of people died under these conditions.
Secretary - General NATO also inspected a thermal power plant in the area that was damaged in the Russian attack.
By contrast, with his arrival in Ukraine, Rutte announced that Allies would find more than $15 billion to buy weapons for Ukrainian armed forces.
