Resigned indictment against 13 police officers for involvement in the “Cocani”

The crime prosecution has filed charges against 13 police officers for serious work against general security, over fire at the “Puls” discotheque in Kocan, where 63 people lost their lives and over 200 were hurt. According to the prosecution, the accused officers have made a series of concessions.

The accused have not taken measures to protect those present. They have also not taken measures to prevent the activism of pyrotechnics, even though their use was not pre-reported to police”, the PTHP said.

In addition, the proposal against 9 police officers for misuse of official office has been submitted, since it has enabled “Puls” to obtain licenses without meeting the terms, benefiting over 4 thousand and 500 euros.

At the Criminal Court, the prosecution has submitted the proposal even against three policemen who, during the drafting of the processes for checks conducted in “Puls”, have introduced incorrect data. Meanwhile, the Prosecutor's Prosecutor for Crime has terminated the procedure for seven policemen. They will now be attended by the Constitutional Public Prosecutor in Kocan.

“Considering that the powers of the specialised department were established in 2018, the penal-juridical evaluation courses in this procedure were only for actions taken from 2019 to 2022, while for the rest the subject was sent for competent action in Kocan”, said PTHP NOOK.

The charges against police officers came after a several-month prosecution investigation into the Crime Unit and after several times being extended for the preparation of the indictment.
