The PDK's youth with symbolic action before the Government: Bears and blankets like “gift” for Kurti for the power crisis

During this action, Kosovo's Democratic Youth has placed in front of the Government building a blanket and several candles, as a symbol of dissatisfaction with the prime minister's provocative and irresponsible statements, which have blamed citizens for the energy crisis, claiming that “is heating up more than it needs to be”.

In his statement to the media, RDK Secretary Altin Gjata stressed that this action has nothing to do with statistics or propaganda, but with the daily reality of Kosovo citizens.

He stressed that the energy crisis and increasingly unaffordable bills are forcing Kosovo families to choose between heating and food, while students are forced to learn in the dark. According to him, the question posed by citizens today is simple and just - how much more will the price of electricity increase?

During that, he sharply criticised Government for blocking hundreds of millions of euros in clean energy investment and for failing to secure enough local production, stressing that this is not a winter crisis, but a management and irresponsibly crisis.

He added that, although KEK's historic modernisation was promised, today this institution produces less, imports have grown and benefits are going to power favourites.

“The figure of this crisis is paying our families and every citizen of Kosovo”, Gjata said, adding that the blanket and candles set before the Government are a symbolic “gift” for the incumbent prime minister, who does not feel the burden of monthly bills and family heating.

In the end, Kosovo's Democratic Youth stressed that electricity is a basic service, not a business for power-related people. They added that citizens deserve light, heat, and security and that they will not be silenced in the face of this situation.

How many more, Albin? How much longer will the current rise? ”, was the concluding message of this symbolic action.
